Für die, die sich zusätzlich für Planeten interessieren, wird am Wochenende vom 26.10. - 28.10.2018 in La Chaux-de-Fons eine internationale Konferenz über den Planet Mars stattfinden.

Dear Sir,
I am writing to inform you and the Schweizerische Astronomische Gesellschaft
that I am organizing a conference ("EMC18"*) about Planet Mars in Musee
International d'Horlogerie of La Chaux-de-Fonds, from Friday, Oct. 26th 14h00
till Sunday Oct. 28th 12h00.
*EMC18 stands for 18th European Mars Conference
The conference will be made of 23 half-an-hour presentations by specialists and
one debate involving Claude Nicollier and Robert Zubrin (the American founder of
the Mars Society). We will cover four themes: (1) knowledge of the planet; (2)
Time; (3) The interplanetary voyage (in view of manned missions); (4) Manned
missions and possibilities of settlement.
This is at the hedge of Astronomy because Mars is now "in-between" considering
the possibilities that we have to explore its surface, its atmosphere and soon
its internal structure, with robots. However it might interest people around you
who are passionate about space.
As we expect many non French-speaking people, the conference will be in English.
